Case Study 1

The Brief:

Having organised our client’s Regional Team Day for the past 4 years, the challenge was on to outdo previous years……… our clients wanted a day that was both challenging, fun and above all a rewarding day for their staff as recognition of all their hard work during the year.

Solution:

Magnum Events put together an event called The Chase: Land, Sea and Air Challenge.

Based at a location on the South Coast our delegates arrived for a short morning conference completely in the dark about the day ahead………. Once the conference had finished our 35 people carriers and Magnum Event Drivers were there to meet the delegates and introduce the day ahead.

Inside their people carrier's was an information pack giving them all the information they needed to know to help solve the clues and arrive at a secret location to take part in the following:

  • A trip on a luxury Sunseeker Power Cruiser

  • A Helicopter ride across the Solent

  • 4x4 Off Road Driving through woods

  • Laser Shoot Out

  • Treasure Hunt

On a tight time schedule teams would pass each other on country roads as different teams arrived at different locations all day; Our 4 helicopters took off 17 times each, our 8 Sunseekers departed in total 35 times and we lost count of the number of times our 4x4’s drove the route……………

Case Study 2

The Brief:

Our client wanted a team building day full of challenges and fun for their office where all the different departments could mix together.

Solution:

After an initial meeting to discuss our client’s objectives for the day, Magnum Events amended our popular Team Apprentice day to fit in with both our client’s budget and requirements.

The delegates met at a local hotel and after morning coffee and bacon rolls our very own Sir Alex Sweetner arrived to brief the candidates on the tasks that followed – the teams then headed off towards the New Forest to complete their tasks, arriving back at base camp for a de-brief and to find out which team was to be hired!

Case Study 3

The Brief:

Our client was celebrating their 25th department anniversary and wanted a completely different summer party to help with the company celebrations

Solution:

Having met with our clients on a number of occasions when many ideas were discussed it was decided that a themed evening would fit the bill and a Wild West Night was the favourite. Working alongside our client we themed a package to meet all their requirements and budget.

We suggested that invites for the party attached to cowboy hats and other Wild West props be put on everyone’s desk the night before the party was announced to create a buzz and an element of anticipation.

Having sourced a suitable venue, we set about turning it into a scene from the Wild West, complete with a variety of wild west backdrops, imaginative lighting, cacti, straw bales, totem poles – not to mention a gambling saloon, tin can alley, bucking bronco and event the local sheriff was on-site to start the dancing off………..

Case Study 4

The Brief:

Our client wanted an incentive trip organised for delegates in Europe and the USA, with the previous event held in Las Vegas they wanted a European destination and an action packed itinerary.

Solution:

Many European cities were suggested as suitable destinations and after many discussions Barcelona was decided as the best location meeting all our client’s requirements.

A centrally located 4* hotel was booked for the group as the base for their stay and an interesting and varied itinerary was put together so delegates could see as much of Barcelona and the surrounding area in the few days they were there.

Day 1

Arrival day and an evening drinks and canapé reception was organised, followed by a typical Catalan buffet

Day 2

This started with a morning conference and introduction to the event by the senior managers, followed by some inter-active team building run by the Magnum Events Team on-site.

After lunch teams met up again and had fun exploring Barcelona on our Metro Mission event - a great way of combining a competitive team activity with visits to some of the most interesting parts of Barcelona. Each team was given a set of assignments, instructions, maps, tickets for the bus or Metro. With a deadline to meet all the teams raced around Barcelona completing their assignments with some funny results!

The evening was set a side for a leisurely boat trip along the Barcelona coastline followed by a Paella dinner in a waterside restaurant.

Day 3

A few bleary eyes were spotted this morning as delegates made their way into the conference room to listen to a sales and motivational speaker that was booked for the morning conference session.

After lunch delegates had free time before boarding a coach and heading of into the countryside to visit a wine factory and experience some wine tasting before heading off for a Gala DInner.

The Gala Dinner venue was chosen because of its location and grandeur, once an old casino it has been re-furbished but kept all its character. Guests were greeted with drinks and canapés as they listened to the Spanish guitar players playing in the courtyard before settling down to a gourmet dinner.

Back to Barcelona and the night was still young (for some) so it was off to experience the bars and clubs Barcelona has to offer.

Day 4

Departure day and everyone departed agreeing that this had been a fantastic event and they would be re-visiting Barcelona again.

Alison, at Magnum Event's, went above and beyond on absolutely everything to make sure that all guests had a great experience. This was a four day event for our top sales people. We were working on a budget, but wanted it to look like there was no expense spared. After helping us select the, country, venue and hotel, Magnum came up with a creative and exiting itinerary including, but not limited to some hysterically funny team building activities (run by Magnum themselves); a cruise with a difference; a visit to the Torres Vineyard with wine tasting, followed by the most amazing gala dinner in a privately hired mansion set in spectacular surroundings. The schedule was tight, but Alison made it run very smoothly. The result was that this was the most successful event run by the corporation and a feather in my cap to boot!!
